Fees
PsychMind is passionate about providing equitable services. Our fees are considerably lower than the Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fees schedule to provide access to affordable psychological support.
Session fees vary based on your personal and financial circumstances and the time of your appointment.

* Medicare: You will receive a $96.65 rebate (refund) from Medicare for 10 psychologist sessions per year with a Better Access Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) referral from your General Practitioner or Psychiatrist. We process your rebate online so the money is automatically refunded into your nominated bank account.
** Concession rate: Centrelink HealthCare card holders and full-time TAFE and university students are eligible for a discounted concession rate after the initial assessment session. Discounted session fees are offered for appointments between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays only. Standard fees apply for appointments outside of these times. Please note that PsychMind does not offer bulk-billed Medicare services.
Private Health Funds: If you are paying privately, you may be eligible for a partial rebate of your fees through your private health fund. Rebates vary depending on your health fund and coverage level, so we recommend you check your coverage for a “General Psychologist Consultation” with your health fund before your consultation. Please note that health funds will not provide a rebate if you are already receiving a rebate through Medicare for the same session.
Payment
Payment for services is due at the time of the appointment. We accept cash, EFTPOS, and direct deposit bank transfers.
Medicare Rebates: We process your Medicare rebate online, and the money is automatically refunded to your bank account. Although having an MHCP is not necessary to book an appointment, it does make sessions considerably more affordable.
Reports: Report fees are calculated based on the complexity of the report required and the time taken for assessment, data collection, case conferencing, and report writing. A deposit is required to commence reports, and full payment must be made before the report is released. PsychMind can provide a quote after the initial assessment and data collection. Please note that we do not provide letters or reports at the initial session.
Cancellation Policy: We understand that life happens, and you may not be able to attend an appointment, but we kindly request you communicate this to us in a timely manner. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give PsychMind at least 24 hours’ notice so we can offer your appointment spot to another client on our waiting list. Unfortunately, there will be a $100 cancellation fee if you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or do not attend a booked appointment.
